Follow Your Dreams.

"The best way to make your dreams come true is to wake up."
-Paul Valery

"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined."
"Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake."
-Henry David Thoreau

"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world."
-Harriet Tubman

"Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal."
-Pamela Vaull Starr

“Dance as though no one is watching you. Love as though you have never been hurt before. Sing as though no one can hear you. Live as though heaven is on earth.”

Happy 2012, everybody! I hope the year has been great for you so far! (:

Today [in case you haven't guessed already] I wanted to make a post about following your dreams. One reason being that it's a new year, and most of us have new year's resolutions that we are trying to accomplish. And the way I see it, we are all in a way trying to achieve these goals to bring us closer to our dreams.

I know this might sound a bit corny, but you don't have to be asleep to be living a dream - In fact, the only way you can really live your dream is to open your eyes, heart, and mind and find a place to start.

Goals will help you, if you keep at them. And when you reach your goals, you don't necessarily need to stop there. Why not keep going? (:

My new dream is to become a good basketball player. Right now I am not absolutely completely terrible (I hope), but I sure have some work to go. I just joined the basketball major at my school [with a whole bunch of boys who are REALLY GOOD at it], and our churchball team is getting ready for this year's games. I will try to keep you updated on my journey to becoming a good basketball player.

Just try to Dream BIG, guys! (: And be optimistic and confident about following those dreams.

Thanks for reading my blog, and sorry this post was like an essay XD hehe. Have a wonderful day!

Just to give you a little more of an update on what's been going on in my world (if you're interested).

*I turned 16 about two weeks ago (: So now I'm single and ready to mingle [lol]

*I also dislocated my shoulder on my birthday. I was sleeping on the floor and rolled onto it, then I woke up and thought, "Oh hey, my shoulder just popped." Then I fell back asleep. It was pretty painful the next day, and I looked like a hunchback until I got it popped back in - Which my best friend's dad was kind enough to do. [What a great family they are!]

* I was spoiled for Christmas. And I  loved each and every present. Haha, I just may have to make a post about it. It was nice to be with all my family, too, on that morning (:

* This winter has had almost no snow. I Love it! Wish the weather would last... But if it does snow, the moisture is good to have anyway.

* Got my permit on Black Friday, so look out! Haha, don't worry. I'm actually an okay driver.

Well, that is plenty of news and I'm sure I'll have more to post soon (: Thanks for reading!

Family Reunion!

I'm going to Capital Reef today

So, I'm pretty sure I'm The LUCKIEST Girl alive to have the family I do. I Love each and every one of my siblings, cousins (and their spouses), aunties, uncles, grandparents, great aunts & uncles, my parents, etc. I am way excited to see all of them! (on my dad's side)
Goodness! I am so blessed with such a wonderful family!

If you are reading this, I want to say: Never take the time you spend with your family (or your loved ones) forgranted! It is some of the most precious time you will ever have in your life.

♥ Familes Are Forever ♥

I should have many fun pictures to post up when I get back.

Youth Conference: Lake Powell!

Last Wednesday through Saturday, the youth in my ward went down to Lake Powell. It was super fun! Here's how it happened (for me, at least).
We drove for 6 hours down to Arizona and got lost for a little bit. I thought the leaders were just trying to be cruel and were playing a dumb joke on us. But we did make it, don't worry. :)
So we arrived to the houseboat, and we had some yummy J-Dawgs ready for us to eat.

The next day, I woke up really early (like 4 am!) and I decided to get some scripture study done before the sun rose and blinded me. Everybody woke up from the sun shining in their faces. It was funny seeing everybody wake up all at once without making any noise.
We had a good devotional, and then it was straight on the Lake we went for the rest of the day. It was pure fun the whole day. People went cliff-jumping, and I was too chicken to do it. Some people hiked. Some people went water-skiing, and were really good at it. Some stayed on the boat and played board-games/read books/etc. Then there were people like me who went tubing, and oh my goody goodness: It was so fun!
It was way intense! Skipping across the water like rocks, flying 5 feet off the tube, whiplash, nerdy noises, singing hymns so we don't die (as we got tossed over the waves)... Oh, it was all worth it! I'm sure everybody has at least one battle scar from the crazy fun we had.
That was a good day. :)

The next day was loads of fun too. Some people tried wake-boarding. Most of them were good at it. ;)
I wanted to go cliff-jumping that day, but somehow, I didn't get the chance too.
Another moment of that day that I won't forget is when we were taking pictures. We had a bonfire, and we were going to make s'mores, and we decided to gather on the hill and take a few group-photos. Well, we were about to take a cool picture, when this terrifying wind came and started blowing embers from the fire at us. In an instant, the group became a big stampede down the hill and onto the boat. Everyone was grabbing loose objects so that they wouldn't fly away in the wind, and thank goodness not too many things were lost.
At the same time, some deacons were messing around on a water tube. Well, they didn't realize that it was NOT tied on until one of the boys was floating away on it. The wind pushed him away, while he tried to swim back. Then the nephew of the boat-owner hopped on the wave-runner and saved the day.
One of the leaders told us it must be the Billowing Surge, and read Docterine & Covenants Section 122 verses 6 & 7.
'If thou art aaccused with all manner of false accusations; if thine enemies fall upon thee; if they tear thee from the society of thy father and mother and brethren and sisters; and if with a drawn sword thine enemies tear thee from the bosom of thy wife, and of thine offspring, and thine elder son, although but six years of age, shall cling to thy garments, and shall say, My father, my father, why can’t you stay with us? O, my father, what are the men going to do with you? and if then he shall be thrust from thee by the sword, and thou be dragged to bprison, and thine enemies prowl around thee like cwolves for the blood of the lamb;
And if thou shouldst be cast into the apit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the bdeep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to chedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of dhell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee eexperience, and shall be for thy good."
Hehe. It was pretty funny :)
Afterwards, we had a good testimony meeting. Those boys had lots of symbolism and very good testimonies. I was impressed!

The next day we headed home. Got a couple speeding tickets, but other than that it was an okay trip back.

I really enjoyed my time there! The guy who let us stay on his houseboat was so kind and generous, as were his daughter, niece and nephew. Such nice people!

Went to Lagoon!

Yayy! I completed #1 on my To-Do List.
Yesterday I went to Lagoon (the amusement park) and had loads of fun with my family and my friend, Cole. I really enjoyed Colossus and Wicked, as well as the Rocket! (<<< One of my favourite rides since forever) Then we were also going to go on that humungous swing, but it was kind of expensive. So we decided that one of these days we're gonna go back and go on it. It looks terrifying, but it is now one of my goals in life to go on it :)
Man, I just love amusement parks! They are so flippin' fun. Hehe. And more than that, I Love the time I spend with my loved ones. That's the best part.
